After spending 10 years living in a cramped, filthy cage in a puppy mill – where he’d lost an eye when his cage was power-washed, Harley, on the brink of death, was finally freed. He then spent the next 5 years advocating against puppy mills and saving dogs along with National Mill Dog Rescue.
Harley went on to become the 2015 American Hero Dog, awarded by the American Humane Association. Harley provided hope and inspiration to millions of people worldwide.
Sadly, Harley, the “Little Dog with a Big Dream” passed away on March 20, 2016, leaving behind a lasting legacy of hope and inspiration.
From May 2nd to 29th we will honor Harley’s memory by ResQwalking 200,000 miles against puppy mills. In order to participate all you have to do is download the ResQwalk app (available from iTunes and GooglePlay) and walk.
Whether you are in the United States, Canada, the UK, or a hidden corner of the world, join us! ResQwalk and celebrate Harley, his spirit and everything he brought to the world of animal welfare.
HARLEY’S PUPPY MILL EDUCATION & OUTREACH FUND
The Harley’s Puppy Mill Education & Outreach Fund brings awareness to the commercial dog breeding industry.
All money raised from the walk will be used to: Develop educational curriculum materials about Harley’s life for use in schools, fund billboards to raise puppy mill awareness, create brochures and promotional materials, and to complete Harley’s documentary which was started last summer.
