What’s up with my GPS?

If your ResQwalk GPS results appear to be inaccurate, here are a few tips from Clark Kent (available for adoption through Rock & Rawhide and A Pathway to Hope).
(Please note: ResQwalk is not compatible with stationary equipment such as treadmills or ellipticals. And, if you are using an iPhone, please make sure ‘Background App Refresh’ is ‘On’ while using the ResQwalk app.)
1. Make sure you have installed the latest version of the ResQwalk app. Update iOS here and Android here.
2. Reset network and location warnings in your phone’s settings, and reboot device.
3. When you hit ‘Start ResQwalk’ make sure you have a direct line to the sky. Then wait to lock a “Good” GPS signal before beginning.
4. If it is cloudy, or there are trees or tall buildings around, you may experience GPS disruptions. Many GPS issues occur in certain locations that may not have a strong signal. If one location gives you trouble, try another and you may notice improvements.
5. Before you start tracking your next ResQwalk, be sure to wait until the GPS signal says “Good” on the lower right hand corner of the ResQwalk app.
6. If none of the above work, it is possible the app did not download to your phone correctly.  Try deleting/reinstalling the app to see if this helps.
